“Too many bozos, not enough us” ~ Ryan Wilson

Different Abilities…we all have abilities, my abilities just may be different…

Together, being different makes us stronger

YMCA Wheatlands has been our go to place for individualized workouts since they opened. They have a great variety of user-friendly equipment that allows our members to workout independently and reach their own individualized goals. 9News, Next with Kyle Clark, accompanied us for our day at the gym. Enjoy the news story showing our successes!

Collin loves working at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Aurora, CO

Collin

This is Collin. He enjoys being organized and volunteering within his community! He volunteers picking up trash for Aurora Parks and Recreation and delivering meals through Meals on Wheels.

When he is not volunteering, he is employed at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Aurora where he stocks merchandise on the sales floor and makes sure items are priced correctly. Working here is perfect for him because Collin LOVES shopping for sports equipment. He currently plays ice hockey with the Denver Mustangs, and he plays basketball, flag football, soccer, and golf with Special Olympics.

Some of Collin’s other interests include keeping up with current team stats for his Atlanta Braves and Falcons, tracking his fitness with his FitBit and going to the movies with friends.

Megan out hiking and loving life

Megan

Megan brings her magnificent self to 4Abilities on a daily bases! She works at UCHealth Hospital in Aurora, CO and according to her, it rocks! “I enjoy the people I work with and the responsibilities I have there,” she states.

When Megan is not working, she likes to compete in Special Olympics! Her favorite sports to compete in are bowling, track and field, and golf! She also loves her dance class.

If you happen to see Megan out in the community, you’ll probably catch her wearing her favorite colors, blue and orange (Go Broncos!).

Megan really enjoys spending time with her family, especially her dog Bailey. Bailey is a big old dog and loves to snuggle all the time!

Megan believes that we all have different abilities and we should all respect those abilities!

We are all Colleagues…and all support each other.

Ryan

This is our colleague Ryan. He believes a positive attitude will get you through anything! He enjoys competing in Special Olympics in Basketball, Bowling, Cycling and Track.

He is a world traveler with the Wayfaring Band. He has been to England, Scotland, Utah, and the The Four Corners area to name a few. One of his favorite places to visit is The Grand Canyon in Arizona. Most importantly, he has been to Washington D.C. to advocate for equality for people with different abilities.

Ryan has joined the crew at Mod Pizza. His co-workers call him “the machine” as he is always moving and getting things done. He also looks forward to football season and working the gates at Empower Field at Mile High when his favorite Broncos are in town. When he’s not “making the big bucks”, he volunteers for Meals on Wheels and Aurora Parks and Rec keeping our parks clean.

In his spare time Ryan enjoys golfing, running, cycling and taking walks to reach 20,000+ steps a day on his Fitbit! His newest hobby is flying his drone. Check out his pictures with the button below.

It has been Ryan’s personal mission to get people around the world to stop using the term “disabilities” and start using different abilities!

Josh

Josh has a great sense of humor and always makes us laugh. He has the ability to see the good in any situation and is a calming force in our group.

Some of his favorite things include, but are not limited to, all things Muppets, playing basketball, quoting Get Smart, working out on his punching bag, and of course vanilla ice cream! He loves being part of the Sean and Josh Band and making music for Youtube.

Josh is an active volunteer with Aurora Parks and Recreation as a park steward and the Smoky Hill Library in Aurora shelving movies and straightening books.

Josh believes that your ability level has nothing to do with being a good person. Just because you are different does not mean that you cannot make friends, punch a punching bag, or help people out. Josh brings compassion to our PASA!

Sean and Josh Band Showcase 2023

Sean

Sean is a passionate person with multiple interests! Whether it is making music with his good friend Josh or staying connected with his family and friends, you will always find Sean to be a wonderful free spirit! “I love making music and staying connected with my friends. It makes me feel good.” When he isn’t making music you can find him on Twitter, the basketball court, the soccer field, skate boarding, or at the driving range.

Currently, Sean is employed with MOD Pizza. He is a hard worker and is excited to learn new areas of the restaurant. He also volunteers with Meals on Wheels delivering meals and Aurora Parks and Recreation keeping our parks beautiful. Sean loves to shovel snow in the winter. So, he has recently signed up with Snow Busters to shovel snow for people who are unable to do so for themselves.

Sean wants to become a better drummer for the Sean and Josh Band. Someday Sean hopes to be a YouTube celebrity, and also have a million followers on Twitter! Check out his YouTube channels.
